Some of my current play-oriented interests:
- Snowboarding
After a painful two hours, I learned to snowboard in 1996 and fell in love with the sport. It's been a great way to stay young and keep connected to my snowboarding sons.
- Observed Trials
This is a somewhat obscure form of dirt bike (motorcycle) competition, much bigger in Europe than here in the USA. It's not racing but balancing -- trying not to put your feet down
while you ride over stuff. I've been riding trials since 1975 with the Upper Midwest Trials Association (UMTA) in southern Minnesota.
- Racquetball
I'm a member of the Olympus Athletic Club in Northfield, mainly to play racquetball.
