Some recent community involvement:
- Community networks
I co-founded an organization called Northfield Citizens Online (NCO) in my hometown of Northfield, MN -- a citizens journalism, community media, civic blogosphere site. I team up with two other citizens on a weekly podcast called Locally Grown.
- Charter schools
I've been part of the public charter school movement in various ways since the nation's first charter school legislation was proposed and then passed here in Minnesota in 1991. My four
kids attended a charter school in Henderson, MN called the Minnesota New Country School and a companion school called the Northfield School
of Arts and Technology (ARTech).
